FILAMENT

The 'Filament' is the part of the light bulb that illuminates when electricity is passed through it.

Lewis Latimer created a process for and patented the first carbon elements used in commercial light bulbs.

For BEACON, we're creating a version of this Filament, larger in scale and made of slighty different materials. The 'filament' we are using to recreate the original design is an LED strip cast inside of an off-white Urethane Resin material.
